Anchors

The world needs more anchors and less wrecking balls.

It is easier to destroy then to sustain. It is easier to tear down then to stand firm.

But it is the courageous man who demonstrates stability and peace in the chaos. We are called to stand firm. We are called to sustain.

God asks us to do hard things. We need to get used to it.

When the crisis comes without provocation and in an instant, humanity will look to its leaders. Who are those leaders? The immovable. The anchors.

Humanity is urgently needing people who are unyielding, unbreaking and filled with integrity. We need the type of people who others can hold onto in the middle of the storm.

This is who God is calling us to be. He wants us to be dependable for our families, friends, churches and co-workers. He wants our classmates to note we are a safe place to go to in the tempest. Our nation can count us. Our culture can rest in the safety of our defense.

The storm will come to test our resilience. It will test our moral fiber, our sense of security, our mental strength, our physical strength, our relationship with God and our relationship with one another. It is for these trying times that the world needs us to lead.

If we do not answer the calling that God has called us to or we do not take up our positions of leadership in society meant for us, someone else who is unqualified will fail at doing the job that was meant for us.

Society will be all the weaker for it.

But we can do something about it. We can be anchors.
